What does this mean for you? Trauma is often cyclical. Sometimes it’s best thought of as a tornado from the ground up circling in the same cyclone - but with a wider perspective and less strong forces as it funnels its way up. Each layer is higher out of the original trauma, and there is less debri and more clarity.
You can begin to recognize that some of the coping skills that you used while in your trauma to protect you and sustain you are now maladaptive and no longer serving you. You can start to break some of those old patterns as your wounds begin to heal. Sometimes surviving through trauma in fact even feels like a tornado.
With the help of a coach’s support and other resources, you can navigate difficult weather, find grounding, recalibrate your vision, put the pieces back together, and indeed find the calm in the eye of life’s storms.

What is your wellspring, and how can you tap into it?
I am a firm believer that each Trauma Survivor has their own inner wellspring that is a bubbling resource of wisdom and knowledge. There is an underground river flowing and waiting to be discovered. We may need to use some tools to get through the bedrock of your past.
“The actions you take, the choices you make, and how you participate - that’s really the wellspring of what I call “little r” resilience which creates a sort of scaffolding around us….”
- Samantha Boardman
Together we can find your endless supply of resiliency and joy so you can flourish and thrive as a survivor in your current life today. There are no ‘one size fits all’ answers to find healing from the wounds of trauma. It caused a disruption in your mind and body and spirit that created a disconnect to your true self. The wellspring is still there deep inside, but for some trauma survivors, the valve is shut off.
Maybe you’ve hit a plateau in your healing journey where you still feel “stuck” in some regular day triggers or some poor relationship patterns that keep cropping up. The journey to get beyond your past wounds may not be easy, but it can be made simple with some perseverance and support.
Eventually, the waters will flow, and the journey will get smoother as we navigate it together.
